New Delhi: After a chase Delhi Police PCR unit nabbed a bootlegger near Bhaktawarpur village. Police said that large quantity of illicit liquor was recovered from accused car.
Deputy Commissioner of Police(PCR) Sharat Kumar Sinha said that in the intervening night of October 28-29 at about 11:00 PM, the PCR mobile patrol van staff sub inspector Jaibhan Singh and assistant sub inspector Ranbir were patrolling near MHR College Firni road in Hamid Pur. They noticed a car coming from Singhu Border side under suspicious circumstances.
"The MPV staff signalled the driver to stop, but the driver accelerated and sped away towards village Bakhtawar Pur. Displaying presence of mind and professionalism the MPV Staff flashed a message to control room for help from other MPV's after informing about the facts and started chasing the car, " said DCP PCR. Sharat Sinha further added that after an intense chase the MPV staff finally managed to intercept the car near Bus stand Hirankhi village. On search of th, car 35 boxes of illicit Liquor were recovered contains 1680 quarters. The accused driver Sameem (38) was apprehended.
