New Delhi: A 53-year-old woman was murdered with an ice prick by unknown assailants at her house in New Moti Nagar in west Delhi on Thursday.
The cops suspect that someone known entered the house as there was no ransacking. The children of the woman work in call center and when her daughter returned in the evening, she found her mother Frescila David lying in sofa covered with blood.
She then raised an alarm and informed the neighbours and soon after the cops were alerted.
The friendly entry into the house and no ransacking prime facie rules out robbery as the murder motive, however, the cops are trying to connect the dots and investigating the brutal murder.
Senior cops visited the crime scene and the crime team took finger prints from the room where she was found murdered.
"An ice prick like object has been stabbed onto her chest and stomach to murder her. It seems she was murdered in the afternoon and we got to know only after the daughter returned in the evening at around 6:45," said DCP west Vijay Kumar.
The cops have sent the body for the post mortem. The investigative teams have started scanning the CCTV installed in the nearby areas to get some clue who visited David in the afternoon. Cops have formed several teams to arrest the accused who is absconding. Cops are also questioning the neighbours and relatives to get some clue. The mobile records are also being scanned.
