4 held for murdering property dealer

Greater Noida: Gautam Buddh Nagar police arrested four persons who allegedly kidnapped and murdered a property dealer in Bisrakh area of Greater Noida. Police officials said that the accused murdered victim and dumped his body in Ghazipur area of New Delhi.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Vijaypal Singh, a native of Aemnabad village in Bisrakh area. Singh worked as a property dealer and money lender. The arrested accused have been identified as Alok, Dheeraj, natives of Jalaun district and Sunny, Rakesh who were natives of Kasganj District in Uttar Pradesh. Cops said all the four accused lived at a rented house in the same village where the victim lived.

Cops said that the incident took place on the night of February 22 when Singh had left home to attend a marriage in Delhi but didn't come back.

Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gautam Buddh Nagar said that accused called the deceased for drinks and strangled him to death.

"Upon questioning, the arrested accused told police that Alok had called the deceased on February 22 for drinks at his residence where both of them had an altercation, following which all the four men strangled the deceased with the help of a pillow and dumped the body of the deceased at a printing press, owned by Alok, in Ghazipur area of New Delhi," said Krishna.

Police said that the accused persons called brother of deceased and demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom. The family suspected involvement of Alok as he owed Rs 50,000 to deceased and gave a complaint against him at Bisrakh police station.

"The accused persons confessed to have committed the crime," Krishna added.

The accused were sent to jail after being produced in court on Monday.
