New Delhi: The Special Task Force, Crime Branch on Monday arrested 35-year-old Kuldeep Khare from Nizamuddin Railway Station, in a land-cheating case. Khare was evading court procedures for two years after being granted interim bail on grounds of a settlement with the complainant. STF, Crime Branch followed up with this case when a team led by ACP Pankaj Singh had requisitioned records of wanted criminals in Delhi and NCR, in an attempt to round them up as soon as possible.

The complainant, a businessman from Pitampura, Dellhi had filed an FIR in October 2015 at Mangolpuri Police Station after being cheated out of a land deal he had struck. Khare, a resident of Bhopal was Director of Pure Consultancy Solution Pvt Ltd and had approached the complainant in an attempt to sell a 100-acre plot of land in Betul, Madhya Pradesh.

Trusting the accused and his partners, the complainant transferred Rs 1.6 crore to Khare following which fraudulent ownership and registration documents were produced. Thinking the papers to be genuine, the complainant signed them and went to Betul to take possession of the land that he thought he now owned. Upon reaching Madhya Pradesh, the complainant was made aware of the ruse and realised that Khare and his associates had defrauded him of Rs 1.6 crore. He then registered his complaint with Delhi Police.

After going through all relevant details, facts, and possible hideouts of the accused, Head Constable Virender received a tip about his arrival at the railway station. An arrest operation was set up under ACP Singh's supervision, where Khare was surrounded by police and arrested while trying to flee.

The police discovered that Khare was from a well-educated family in Bhopal and had done an MBA from there in 2008. After having set up his consultancy firm, he decided to defraud businessmen from outside Madhya Pradesh on the pretext of selling them cheap agricultural land. A case under sections 419/420/466/467/468/471/472/120-B of the IPC has been registered against the accused at Mangolpuri police station.
