35 dengue, 21 malaria cases reported from Gurugram

Gurugram: Vector-borne diseases continue to pose dangers to the health of Gurugram citizens. As many as 35 cases of dengue and 21 cases of malaria have been reported from Gurugram.

Moreover, there are 475 suspected cases of dengue that are being examined. In a major concern for the health authorities, there have already been two deaths so far due to dengue. Among the dead includes a 13-year-old child.

This time most of the cases are being reported from the posh areas of the city. The rapid response team has been set up by the district health department to tackle vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria that seems to spike during this season.

As of now, there are five confirmed cases of dengue while there have been fifty suspected cases.

Preparations have already begun for early fogging. Teams have been formed by Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to detect the presence of larvae across the four municipal zones in which the city is divided.

Ironically, the large presence of larvae has been found in the posh areas of the city. Areas that have been termed as highly prone to vector-borne diseases in the city are DLF, Sushant-Lok, South- City, Sector -31 and Palam Vihar. The health department officials claimed that they are taking all possible measures to stop the spread of vector-borne diseases.
