New Delhi: Two persons were arrested with Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) amounting to Rs four lakh. Police said that the recovered FICN is printed in a sophisticated printing unit and are having several of the security features.
Police identified the accused as Gautam Mandal (25) and Shiksha (32).
On July 31, investigating agency got information that Mandal would come near Haiderpur Badli Mor Metro Station to deliver the big consignment of FICN to one of his contacts identified as Shiksha. A trap was laid near Haiderpur Badli Mor Metro Station and both of them were apprehended and searched. High-quality FICN, all in the denomination of Rs. 2000, was recovered from their possession at the spot.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (special cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said that Mandal disclosed that he used to get the supply of FICN from the source for further supplying it to various parties in Delhi, UP, Haryana etc. He has already delivered about 4/5 consignments of FICN in Delhi, UP and Haryana. Shiksha, for the past three years she used to procure FICN through his carriers and further circulate the same in local markets.
