‘Everything in this world is related to mathematics including the genetic code’ said Dinesh Singh, vice chancellor, Delhi University, during the book release of, What is Mathematics? authored by Balakrishna Shetty, at the India International Centre.
Singh said, ‘Education has to be dug out and we need to find out what resonates within us and then express it outside’. He further added that everything in this world is related to mathematics including the genetic code, physical law and even the planet, which revolves around the sun to a precise mathematical law. In the field of mathematics, India’s tradition is extraordinarily strong’.
Pallam Raju, union minister of human resource and development, said, ‘Mathematics is a very intimidating subject that finds applications universally. The application is more important than the subject because it is the application that fascinates people to apply this subject into art, space, architecture, construction, design, pure science etc. Today mathematics has found its presence in every aspect of our life.’
