Mental Health Week will be observed in different parts of Delhi, starting from 10 October, World Mental Health Day. Awareness activities are conducted every year in this regard, with the help of IHBAS and SMHA. Pankaj Kumar, Assistant professor at Department of Psychiatry, Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences [IHBAS], said, ‘To launch the Mental Health Awareness Week, we have also planned a full-day event on 9 October, at the Multi Purpose Hall, India International Centre, from 9.30 am to 4 pm. Kumar added, ‘The day will involve panel discussions and round table conferences. These interactions will provide useful cross-cutting themes and solutions for the larger problems of mental health.’ The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit as chief guest.
