A head constable posted at the disaster management team of Delhi Police, with its office in outer Delhi’s Rohini, has been accused of rape. The woman, aged between 30 – 35 years, was reportedly a friend of the official and reported the matter at outer Delhi’s Alipur police station on Wednesday night, said a police source.

The woman was sent for a medical examination and later a case of rape was registered. However, the accused head constable, identified as Devi Singh, is still at large, said a police official. He further added that the woman also told the police that the accused had allegedly raped her at a house in outer Delhi’s Narela. Investigation of the case is on and the police are looking for the accused official, the police source added.

Almost a month ago, the daughter-in-law of a senior police official had alleged that she was raped by him in 2013. The case was reported at South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj (North) police station. The woman reportedly went abroad to live with her brothers after the incident. She returned to Delhi in January and reported the matter to the police.
