Delhi, Mumbai air travellers to fly cheaper

Close on the heels of the decision to not levy airport development fee at Chennai and Kolkata airports, the civil aviation minister Ajit Singh has directed the Airports Authority of India [AAI] to infuse more equity in Mumbai International Airport Ltd. and Delhi International Airport Ltd. in lieu of abolishing airport fee at the airports of these two cities.

At present, the airport authorities charge Rs 200 per domestic passenger and Rs 1,300 per international passenger in Delhi and Rs 100 per domestic passenger and Rs 600 per international passenger in Mumbai.
