Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday congratulated students, parents, teachers and the education department for the best ever results scored by Delhi government schools in CBSE class XII examinations. The pass percentage has recorded one per cent improvement over last year. Last year the pass percentage was 87.72 per cent, which has gone up to 88.65 per cent this year.
Dikshit added that this establishes the fact that imparting of education in government schools in Delhi is excellent as well as qualitative. ‘We are proud of our students.

The Directorate of Education has been paying due attention to students by adopting the latest interactive method of teaching and continuous evaluation of students,’ said the Chief Minister.
Dikshit also stated that real credit goes to the principals, teachers and officers of the Directorate of Education. The devotion and sincere hard work of the Principals and Teachers have resulted in improvement in results. Dikshit said the number of government schools recording 100 per cent success rate has gone up from last year’s 78 to 109 this year.
Dikshit particularly congratulated girls who performed better than the boys this time as well in Delhi region. The pass percentage of girls in Delhi region was 91.42 per cent against boys’ pass percentage of 82.44.
The improvement in results in the Delhi region is 1.38 per cent. The result of Delhi government schools is better than government schools in all other Indian cities. Delhi government schools with a pass percentage of 88.65 per cent, topped the list of government school results in India. Punchkula with 85.32 per cent is at second place and Chennai with 64.68 per cent success rate achieved the third place.
The pass percentage of RPVVs in Delhi is 99.05 per cent, which is better than pass percentage of 97.56 per cent of Kendriya Vidyalays in Delhi.
