With a view to decongest traffic, the Delhi government on Monday announced to construct two elevated BRT corridors criss-crossing the city. These projects will be executed on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model.
As per the proposal, the 29-km East-West BRT Corridor will connect Anand Vihar in East Delhi with Peeragarhi in West Delhi while the 24 km-long North-South BRT Corridor will connect Wazirabad to IGI Airport. “These two corridors will be implemented on a pilot project basis. After their successful implementation, we will plan a network of elevated BRT corridors in the city,” said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
