Delhi girl shot dead at home

In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old girl was shot dead inside her house on Friday morning.

Subhash, the victim’s distant relative, has been arrested for the crime and booked under section 302 of the IPC. He was  allegedly stalking her for the past five years. The incident took place at Budh Vihar in the Munirka area under Vasant Vihar police station of South Delhi district at 10.45 am.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Pinki, a student of class 12 at Government School, Sector 5, RK Puram. She was waiting for her class 12 results. Her parents are employed with the Jawaharlal Nehru University. The victim, according to the police, was alone at home at the time of the incident.

According to the police, the gunshot was heard by the girl’s aunt. Subhash had managed a friendly entry into the house. Pinki’s parents had left for work. ‘In a matter of minutes he shot her and fled.

Hearing the shot, Pinki’s aunt rushed to the crime scene and found her lying in a pool of blood,’ an official said, quoting Pinki’s aunt.

‘The girl was immediately rushed to the nearby Safdarjung hospital where she was declared dead on arrival,’ he added.
