‘Aam Aadmi Party-government prepared speech neither had direction regarding policies for the all-round development of Delhi, nor was there any direction to make the government administration more result-oriented’ said Arvinder Singh Lovely, DPCC president.

The Congress Party, expressing its strong disapproval, said that AAP leaders were looking for cheap publicity by making new policy statements, with no steps initiated to implement any of its announcements. They said the people of Delhi were disappointed with the policies and programmes of the AAP.

The Congress party, in its statement, said the AAP Government’s warning to suspend the licence of the private electricity distributors was evident that the AAP party wanted to call these power distribution companies to its side. The statement of the LG had also did not make it clear as to when the people would get power at 50 per cent concession, without subsidies. In its original manifesto, it was stated they would slash electricity tariffs by 50 per cent, without any subsidies provided to discom companies. Currently, until an audit is completed, the Delhi government has decided to provide subsidies to power distribution companies.

Arvinder Singh said that the AAP government, from its formation till now, has not taken any concrete step to implement any of its decisions. They said that in the LG’s speech, there was no mention of keeping ongoing development works in Delhi in full swing. They expressed their disappointment and displeasure that the Delhi government had not made any commitment to continue development projects, started by the previous Congress government.
