Delhi BJP likely to come out with first list of candidates

‘The meeting of the central election committee has been called to discuss the candidates’ list for Delhi and I will attend the meeting in capacity of city BJP president,’ said Vijay Goel, Delhi BJP president. Chief ministerial candidate of BJP Harsh Vardhan, being a member of the central election committee, will attend the meeting along with Nitin Gadkari, Delhi BJP poll in-charge.

On Monday evening, according to sources, a meeting of the screening committee comprising Vijay Goel, Harsh Vardhan and party’s general secretary (organisation) Vijay Sharma was called at the residence of Nitin Gadkari to finalise the list to be presented before central election committee. The city leaders according to sources have agreed to release the first list on Tuesday, which includes sitting MLAs and over 25 more seats, where consensus have been reached.

‘The party may declare the entire list in one go or defer the disputed seats for the next meeting but the first list is most likely to be announced by Tuesday evening,’ said a senior leader.
