Delhi BJP hunts for South civic body councillors who voted for Congress

The differences in Delhi BJP, over the just-concluded civic body elections,  are yet to be sorted out, with party managers  hunting for six BJP councillors who are suspected to have voted for the Congress candidate in South DMC's mayoral polls.

Also, fresh differences have cropped up on the ensuing election for statutory committees, as two fractions of the party have differences of opinion on it.

According to sources, the party managers are worried that six councillors voted for the Congress candidate in the election for the post of mayor in South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

The party had calculated that it has 70 votes for its mayoral candidate, present mayor Sarita Chaudhary, but received only 64 votes.

As per the calculation of the BJP managers in South DMC the party had 70 votes, which constitutes of 44 BJP councillors, three BJP MLAs, five BSP councillors, six NCP councillors, three INLD councillors, one councillor each from RLD and JDU, and seven independents.
