A decomposed body of a five-year-old girl was found in a canal in east Delhi. The body has not been identified as yet but the cops are suspecting her to be the same girl who went missing 13 days ago from Kalyanpuri area.
‘The body was decomposed so her identity could not be verified. Prima facie it appears that the girl is between four to five years of age. Injury marks on her body could not be identified as the body was in a very bad condition,’ the police official said.
Soon after taking out the body from the canal, it was taken to the nearby Lal Bahadur Shashtri hospital, where the post-mortem is supposed to be performed.
To verify the girl’s identity, when the records of missing children were looked through, it was learnt that on Diwali a complaint was received at Kalyanpuri police station about a missing girl who was four-year-old.
