Death of CJM’s wife: Kin want Garg suspended

Update: 2013-07-26 23:10 GMT
The family of Geetanjali, wife of Gurgaon Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravneet Garg, who died under mysterious circumstances, has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court here seeking suspension of the CJM.

Geetanjali’s brother, Pradeep Aggarwal, submitted a representation in the office of Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul on Thursday seeking suspension of Garg, who has been booked for murder in the case, from the post.

In his representation, Aggarwal has alleged that the Gurgaon police was ‘mishandling’ the case and did not record Garg’s statement immediately after Geetanjali was found dead. Aggarwal has further claimed that the police did not immediately conduct search at his residence for collecting proof.

Pleading that the CJM be immediately placed under suspension, Aggarwal mentioned that the family apprehends that there would be pressure on the police or any other investigating agency if Garg was not immediately suspended.
