The Delhi Disaster Management Authority team which inspected Feroze Shah Kotla ground on Monday has given a conditional go ahead for the IPL matches to be held on 21 and 22 May.

The order issued following the inspection, however, noted that despite information delivered on time the officials of the licensing unit of Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Service were not present during the time of the inspection.

Noting that some improvements have been done at the ground to meet safety standards, the DDMA issued orders that the matches could be held but due care must be taken regarding emergency medical response and sufficient arrangements in this regard must be put in place as according to the Disaster Management Plan and as according to the expected gathering.

The order said LPG cylinders must not be used without specific permission from DFS and South Delhi Municipal Corporation must take necessary action to implement the closure notices/orders so as to ensure that public safety is not put at risk.

The order added that strong private security system must be put in place to take care of public safety.
