DDA auctions 120 sqm plot for Rs 5.35 crore in Rohini

A 120sqm residential plot in Rohini fetched Rs 5.35 crore in a Delhi Development Authority (DDA) auction, proof of the soaring property prices in the national capital.

The sum translates to over Rs 4.45 lakh per sqm. 'The highest bid of Rs 6.81 crore was received for a 200 sqm plot in sector 18 of Rohini while a 120 sqm plot in sector 8 of Rohini sold for the highest value in terms of per sqm cost,' said a DDA spokesperson.

In the recent auction for 28 residential plots, the authority sold 19 plots through auction, though the rest could not be sold. The auction of plots was held over a three-day period between Thursday and Friday.

According to a senior officer of the authority the reserve price for the 200 sqm plot was Rs 6.80 crore while that of a 120 sqm plot was Rs 4.50 crore. The lowest bid was received for some plots in Rohini measuring approximately 32 sqms, which were auctioned for Rs 66.00 lakhs as against the reserve price of Rs.63.38 lakhs.

DDA realised a total amount of Rs.46,61,81,000 for the plots as against a reserve price of Rs.38,73,09,078.00 crores. DDA had offered a total of 33 plots of different sizes on freehold basis, located in various residential colonies such as Dwarka and Rohini.
