CWG 2014: HC notice to Centre, Wrestling body

Update: 2014-06-24 22:53 GMT
The Delhi High Court on Monday sought responses from the Centre, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and Indian Olympic Association on the plea of five wrestlers alleging that players for coming 20th Commonwealth Games (CWG) to be held in Glasgow were selected without holding any trial. A vacation bench of V Kameswar Rao directed the Centre and the various sports bodies, including WFI, to state on affidavit whether selection trials are mandatory and listed the matter for further hearing on June 27. The authorities have also been asked to state whether any trials were actually held and if yes, to show the records of all the players who participated in them and qualified.
