A court here on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Railway minister Sadananda Gowda’s son Karthik Gowda, raising the possibility of his arrest a week after a Kannada starlet filed a complaint of rape and cheating against him.

The 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court has issued arrest warrant against Karthik, Additional Commissioner of Police (law and order) Alok Kumar told PTI.

Asked whether police are on the lookout for him, he said ‘anticipatory bail proceedings (on a plea by Karthik) were underway (today) in another court. We are waiting for it.’

Police had asked Karthik to appear before them for questioning twice but he failed to show up for the second time on 29 August.
