A young couple allegedly committed suicide by jumping in a well at <g data-gr-id="15">Koheda</g> <g data-gr-id="16">mandal</g> in the district after their families rejected their marriage proposal, police said on Sunday.
Jeripothula Naveen, 24, an auto-rickshaw driver in <g data-gr-id="17">Koheda</g> <g data-gr-id="18">mandal</g> headquarters had an affair with Kodimunja Sirisha, 24, of the same village and were in a relationship for last two years, they said.
The couple allegedly committed suicide on Saturday after their parents opposed their affair and were against their wish to get married, <g data-gr-id="11">Koheda</g> Police Station sub-inspector G <g data-gr-id="12">Nailu</g> said. "The duo met near an agricultural well on the outskirts of <g data-gr-id="13">Koheda</g>, nearly 45 <g data-gr-id="14">kms</g> from here, last night and jumped into into the well," he said.
