Co’s MD, HR exec, 5 others booked in alleged gang-rape

Noida police on Tuesday, registered a case against the managing director (MD), HR manager and manager along with five other employees for allegedly gang-raping a woman employee inside the company premises in Greater Noida. The police registered case on court’s direction, in which the victim has alleged rape about one year ago.

The police have sent the victim for medical check up and are investigating the matter. As per the report, a 30-year-old woman working with a garment company had allegedly been gang-raped by senior employees of the company earlier. The woman had alleged that on February 13, the company’s MD, HR manager, manager and other employees raped her one by one before beating her up brutally. The woman claimed that the management had some issues with her following which, she was targeted. She was also threatened of dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police.

The woman had approached the local police, but no action was initiated against the accused persons. She later approached the local court, which ordered for the registration of an FIR under appropriate
sections. “On court’s direction, we have registered a case under various sections of the IPC at Surajpur police station. We have sent the woman for medical check-up, the report of which is awaited. We are also questioning the accused persons to get more details,” said Investigating Officer (IO) of the case.

Meanwhile, the company officials have said that the allegation was made to defame the company and to frame the senior officials.
