Delhi police have arrested a dreaded criminal who was wanted since 2006 and two of his associates. A country-made pistol, two live cartridges and a stolen mobile phone have been recovered from the main accused.
The accused has been identified as Richhpal, 33, from Ashram, who commits robbery and snatching with his associates in the areas of Hazrat Nizamuddin and Sunlight Colony.
One complainant Pramod Kumar lost his wallet, mobile and other belongings when he was travelling in a train foot board near Bharapulla Jhuggi Cluster.
‘Based on the complaint, Richhpal was arrested on 15 March and a .315 bore country made pistol along with two live catridges and a stolen mobile phone of Pramod Kumar was also recovered’ told Ravindra Yadav, Additional commissioner of Police.
On interrogation, he was found to be a wanted criminal of Sunlight Colony police station involved in seven cases of robbery. His early associates Sanjay Behanga and Rajesh Babu were also arrested. On his confession, search is in progress to apprehend more of his associates Dinesh, Qasim and Babu.
‘Passengers must avoid travelling by the foot boards of trains as they are more vulnerable to such incidents of robbery’, added Yadav.
