Cops nab conman cabbie who would pose as DSP

A drunken cab-driver was arrested on Saturday midnight by the Delhi police for extortion. The accused allegedly pose as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and  take money from people.

On the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday, Salender, 19, was going back home in his rented auto-rickshaw.

He was flagged  by the accused outside Savitri Modern Public school who had asked him for licence. He then demanded money.

'He claimed he was a DSP and was threatening to seize the auto-rickshaw.

In the meantime, a PCR van approached the two. Salendar told them about what had happened. The accused, identified as Hareesh Sehrawat, 26, started to argue with the cops,' a police official said.
