Police constable who was allegedly shot by three persons at outer Delhi’s Narela on Friday night succumbed to bullet injury. Police said on Saturday it’s a case of personal rivalry.
According to the police, a call was received around 10.15 pm on Friday and they were informed that constable Jeetendra Khatri (27) was shot outside his residence at Narela.
The police rushed to the spot and took him to a nearby hospital from where he was later referred to Fortis Hospital in Delhi. It was around 3 am when Khatri breathed his last.
A case of murder was registered at the Narela police station immediately. By Saturday evening, the accused were identified but their names were not disclosed for convenience in investigation. “The accused are known to the victim. However, the exact reason of dispute, which led to the alleged murder will be known only after the accused are interrogated. We have tracked their whereabouts and launched a manhunt. They shall land in the police net soon,” said Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer).
