A Delhi police head constable committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at the Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station on Tuesday evening following a dispute with his wife, police said on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Pawan Sharma, was deployed at the Police Control Room (PCR) and was seen walking on the track near platform number-1 at around 4 pm on Tuesday. ‘When he was walking on the track, he suddenly jumped in front of an ongoing train.
Before ending his life, he had also sent out a message to his family members and some friends,’ said a senior police officer.
Police claimed that in his message, he stated the reason for his extreme step is a dispute with his wife.
They are scanning CCTV footages to determine the exact sequence of events, the officer added. Police said Sharma got married a few months ago.
