Congress leaders insulting Hindi: BJP

Update: 2014-11-14 00:01 GMT
‘Congress leaders are insulting Hindi language. It seems the Congress will hate whatever Modi ji likes... like the Hindi language. Rahul Gandhi has opposed Hindi. We respect all languages. We are not opposed to the use of English. He has no right to insult Hindi.’

Ever since Modi has become the PM, he has made most of his speeches in Hindi, be it at the Independence Day celebrations in Delhi’s Red Fort or at ASEAN meet.

While speaking at a party meeting to mark the 125th birth anniversary of India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Rahul said, ‘Today, angry people who are running the country are saying that we should ditch English and promote Hindi.’ He also termed Modi’s ‘Clean India’ campaign as a photo-op.

In the context of Rahul’s remark on Modi’s Clean India campaign, Hussain said, ‘They are talking of photo-ops, but are forgetting, Modi ji is attempting realise Mahatma ji’s dream of a cleaner India. Congress had reduced Mahatma ji’s birth anniversary to a formality.’

Another BJP leader Nalin Kohli said, ‘Rahuls political career has been full of photo-ops, traveling in local train, visiting Dalit houses, tearing ordinance papers.’
