Commando Surender feels the ‘love’ in door-to-door campaigns, road shows
Since early morning, the party candidate, who had won the seat last time, witnessed people do door-to-door campaigns, road shows as well as small gatherings. Amid a huge crowd of party workers and supporters with banners, posters and cut-out of party leaders, it appeared to be a colourful day everywhere in the area. Claiming to meet each and every voter of the constituency during the campaign, Commando said that he is scouring length and breadth to identify the problems of the area.
“If I’m elected, I will focus on overall development of the area, clean water for drinking along with focus on local issues. Being a legislator of the area, I have done a lot of work here and hopefully, people will support my candidature for the upcoming Delhi polls. I ensured proper roads, extension of water pipelines in remote areas and spent entire amount of my MLA fund,” Commando told Millennium Post. In the last assembly poll, Commando had defeated three-time MLA and
BJP’s strongman Karan Singh Tanwar by a narrow margin.
Early morning on Thursday, the leader was seen visiting door-to-door in several parts of his constituency, appealing the people to vote in his favour. He, along with scores of party workers and supporters, visited Netaji Nagar, Kirbi Palace, Sadar Bazar area, Nangla village and other areas. Around 2 pm, the leader started a road show beginning from Jhalera area which passed through Sadar Bazar, Kabul Lane, Gopinath Bazar, CB Narayna Road. The road show, that drew thousands of locals, ended around 6 pm.
Launching scatting attacks over rival candidates, the former MLA said that issues related to the area have always taken a backseat and once AAP government comes to power, focus will be given to resolve them. He said without ensuring proper development, Delhi Cantt could not be a “model constituency”.
He added: “Although I had done a lot during my 10-months-tenure, there is a need to chalk out detailed plans for the area. Once I am elected, I will present a blueprint to ensure maximum growth.”
