A special court on Wednesday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to deposit the original case files of a coal blocks allocation scam case, involving Jharkhand Ispat Pvt Ltd (JIPL) and its two directors.
The court’s direction came when senior public prosecutor AP Singh informed it that original files may be required during the course of investigation in some other cases also.
The issue cropped up as a CBI official was present in the court with certain original case files from the ‘malkhana’.
“In these circumstances, it is directed that for the purpose of investigation in other cases photocopy of the original documents should be retained in the malkhana by the CBI and the original file be
deposited by the next date of hearing in the court,” said Special CBI Judge Bharat Parashar and fixed the case for April 6.
The accused sought time to submit their replies and the court fixed it for April 6.
