Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday felicitated PWD engineers for carrying out “effective cleanliness” drive across the city during the recent MCD employees’ strike over non-payment of their dues.
Public Works Department (PWD) were directed by the Delhi government to lift garbage, as around 60,000 sanitation workers of the BJP-led Municipal Corporations had gone on strike earlier this month.
Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia felicitated the department’s engineers.
The PWD had formed 80 teams to conduct “massive” cleanliness drive in the national Capital.
The AAP government had claimed that it had facilitated the removal of around 80 per cent of the rubbish from city roads following the strike.
