Three-time MLA from Chandni Chowk, Parlad Singh Sawhney, has been appointed the parliamentary secretary to the Chief Minister. Sawhney had also twice served as municipal councilor earlier. He was also the
chairman of PAC (Public Accounts Committee) of Delhi Assembly.
Sahni replaced Talvinder Singh Marwah, who was terminated from the post after his involvement was proved in fabrication of his daughter’s marksheet.
Sheila Dikshit would administer the oath of office to him in a function to be organised on Wednesday at Delhi Secretariat.
Dikshit has four parliamentary secretaries, Anil Bhardwaj, Mukesh Sharma, Surender Kumar and the next secreatry Parlad Singh Sawhaney, would take oath on Wednesday.
When Dikshit won the Delhi Assembly elections for the third time in a row in November, 2008, she started appeasing more MLAs.
According to analysis , there is no representative from Others Backward class (OBC), while 63 per cent of population belong to the OBC category. Most of the Chief Minister’s cabinet is formed of members from the Punjabi community. Including the Chief Minister, out of 7 ministers, four ministers belong to the Punjabi community.
