City and Christmas cheer

Update: 2013-12-15 20:20 GMT
Restaurants and hotels have been getting their cake-mixes in place for weeks now and the time has come to bake it up. We attended the incredible cake mixing at Shangri-La and Frescos (read all about it here - http://www.millenniumpost.in/NewsContent.aspx?NID=44617) and we cannot wait for the winter goodness to descend on the city.

Winter markets and special Christmas special fairs are popping up across the city as Christmas trees grab centre stage across malls and hotel lobbies. Shangri-La got the lights shining on their decorations on Friday as the gigantic nine foot tall environment friendly Christmas tree  made of dried twigs, pinecones and embellished with authentic ornaments became the centre of attention.

The evening kicked off with the entry of the children's choir who sang familiar Christmas carols joyously adding to the merry mood. Mulled wine, Christmas cake and cookies were passed around as the children participated in a treasure hunt to find the switch that would light up and illuminate the tree. We shall be writing more about this soon - watch this space. The Capital has also just gotten one of the coolest restro-bars across the world opening shop here. The Monkey Bar, originally from NYC has opened their doors in Plot No 11, Pocket C 6 & 7, Commercial Complex Vasant Kunj and we will be checking them out soon! Happiness.

Live it up with the incredible Sunday brunches and some awesome sea-food at The Imperial
with their incredible chef Veena Arora whipping up a storm. We love her food and we guarantee you will love it too.
