Coal India Limited (CIL) has imported approximately five lakh tonnes of coal so far in the current fiscal (2015-16) for power producers as their response has not been encouraging.
The Union Government had earlier said that coal imports in the April-October period had dropped by 4.56 per cent over the same period in 2014.
