Update: 2015-09-01 00:35 GMT
The CID has taken over the probe into the case of missing question papers of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in West Bengal.

According to a highly-placed source in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the driver and the helper of the bus, from which the question papers went missing, have already been interrogated in this connection. CID sleuths would also question the two constables guarding the bus.

“We have already started our investigation into the matter. Both the driver Swapan Basu and helper Ujjwal Kundu have been questioned. We’ll also interrogate constables Chinmoy Mondal and Himadri Sekhar Biswas,” the CID source said on Monday.

TET, meant for recruitment of primary school teachers, was originally scheduled to be held on
Sunday. After some question papers went missing, the West Bengal government deferred the TET exam to October 4. Asked whether CID would question the two officials of the postal department who were present on the bus, the source said, “We have to talk to everyone involved in the process of transportation of the question papers. We have to look who, where, how and what created the gaps through which papers even after the presence of so many persons went missing. We are looking into all possible loopholes in this matter.”

The source also said, “The involvement of influential external hands cannot be ruled out... <g data-gr-id="23">Otherwise</g> such things do not happen. We are also looking whether any racket is involved in this or not.”
