‘Children should be told about their rights’

On the occasion of Children’s Day on Wednesday, education, social welfare,women & child development minister, Delhi government, Kiran Walia said, ‘The children of today are the future of the tomorrow and they should be protected, groomed properly, their rights should be told to them, their exploitation should be stopped, their education should be ensured and they should be provided with all types of government facilities for their future’. Walia was participating in the Children’s Day celebrations organised by the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights at Gandhi Peace Foundation on Wednesday. Children from more than 15 NGOs and the children homes of Delhi government participated in the various cultural activities organised. Education minister, while addressing the children, said children should be told about their rights and society should be told loudly and clearly to discourage child labour, to discourage child marriage and discourage child exploitation.
