Mumbai Police Tuesday filed a formal set of charges in a court here against Abu Jundal, the alleged handler of the Mumbai attackers, an official said.
The over 13,000-page chargesheet was filed by the crime branch of police before Esplande magistrate.
The chargesheet consisted of 56 volumes and included details of Jundal's role in hatching the plot. It also mentioned details on the confrontation between Jundal and Ajmal Kasab.
According to a police official, the record of Jundal's phone call to two terrorists at Chabad House during the 2008 attack was the most crucial evidence against him.
The voice analysis of the call by the Kalina forensic science laboratory has also been mentioned in the formal set of charges as vital evidence.
Jundal is in the custody of the NIA till 20 Oct to unearth terror group LeT’s conspiracy.
Investigators earlier took his custody to probe his involvement in the Mumbai attack, the German Bakery blast in Pune, the Aurangabad arms haul case and a plot to attack the Nashik Police Academy. The Mumbai attack in 2008 by 10 LeT terrorists left 166 dead and 238 injured. German Bakery blast 13 Feb, 2010 killed 17 and injured at least 60 more. In the Aurangabad case, 43 kg RDX, 50 hand grenades, 16 AK-47 rifles and over 3,000 bullets were seized from two cars on the Chandwad-Manmad Highway.
