Believe it or not, the people involved in the snooping racket were planning tech-savvy services for their clients against higher charges, sources privy to investigation told Millennium Post.
Not only were the call detail records were shared, some of the phones were also tapped, the source said. In some of the cases, the clients have given huge amounts of money to also find out the locations of the targets and to keep them updated through Whatsapp, the source added.
It is believed that some of the employees of the different detective companies who were in touch with each other and are part of one racket, were planning to develop a personal application for android phones.
“They had also contacted app developers in the NCR but things did not materialise. With the help of these apps, login id and one time passwords would have been given to the clients so that they themselves can keep a close watch on their target,” the source said.
Meanwhile, in a fresh development in the CDR case, Delhi Police have arrested Narender, a constable posted at the Surveillance Cell in IG office in Kanpur. He had a tie-up with the agents of detective companies in Delhi and using his official IDs, he used to procure the CDRs from the nodal offices.
On Tuesday, Narender was brought to Delhi and is being intensively quizzed at the Crime Branch office. According to sources, the cops are likely to conduct face-to-face interrogation of the four accused including Narender. However, Aditya Sharma, who was arrested earlier as well during Arun Jaitely’s CDR case is in judicial custody.
“Few names of other policemen posted in Uttar Pradesh in the Surveillance Cell have also cropped up during Narender’s interrogation,” the source privy to investigation said. Meanwhile, the bail plea of Sanjeev Chaudhary, Senior Sales Manager of BLS company, has been rejected after the police urged the court that the employees of BLS company have gone underground and if bail is given to Chaudhary, he will also run away.
Meanwhile, the names of some corporate middlemen have also cropped up and it has been learnt that these middlemen also contacted the detective agencies to procure the details about some bureaucrats and politicians. “Some of the corporate middlemen were also involved in the 2013 CDR case when they tried to procure the details of some known personalities,” the source said.
