The Central Board of Secondary Education was faced a ruckus on Thursday, when it was alleged that one of the questions that was part of the Board’s question paper for the on-going class X examinations was out of the students’ prescribed syllabus and that the correct option in another multiple-choice question was not even part of the options given.
Students appearing for the Board’s class X Science examination on Thursday alleged that the correct answer for question number 38, a multiple-choice question that was part of the objective section, did not form a part of the given options and that question number 40 in paper number I was out of syllabus.
A student of class X, who did not wish to be named, said he was ashamed when saw the two questions and for a while questioned his know understanding and knowledge of the subject.’
Reacting to the charge, M C Sharma, controller of examination said, 'Students would not be penalised for not answering the two questions, rather they would receive full marks for the two irrespective of the answer given.’ He added, ‘We got to know of the problem at 11am on Thursday.’
