The CBI will be carrying out lie detector test on former media baron Peter Mukerjea, who was again grilled on Friday in the murder case of his step-daughter Sheena Bora, in the next couple of days as the agency wants to “verify” claims made in his statements.

CBI sources said that the agency has received the nod from a special court here to subject Peter to polygraph tests which the agency wants to complete in the next couple of days as his remand expires on Monday.

The agency will have to produce Peter before a special court in Mumbai on Monday which has given it his custody.

CBI sources said Peter was quizzed here on Friday for nearly six hours with the questioning focussed on whether funds allegedly siphoned off from the media house founded by him and Indrani Mukerjea were parked in an overseas account of Sheena Bora resulted in a dispute between Indrani and her daughter.

They said the agency confronted Peter with the Income Tax returns filed by him and Indrani to ascertain their various investments in India and abroad.

The sources, however, clarified that at this stage it is difficult to nail any one possible motive behind Sheena’s murder.
