The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered two more preliminary enquiries (PEs) in the mysterious deaths of suspected middlemen in the Vyapam scam, sources said on Tuesday.

Sources said PEs into the deaths of Aditya Choudhary and Mahendra Sarawak, who were found hanging, have begun. While Chaudhary had died at the MGM Medical Boys Hostel in Indore, Sarawak was found dead at his home in Gwalior. Both were being probed by the STF in separate cases for their alleged role as middlemen, sources said.

A 40-member CBI contingent, headed by Joint Director RP Agarwal, a 1986 batch Assam-Meghalya cadre IPS officer, is probing the Vyapam cases. The agency has so far registered 12 FIRs in connection with various Vyapam scam cases.
