The CBI has registered a case against JD (U) Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Sahani for alleged filing of fraudulent leave travel concession (LTC) claims using forged air tickets and boarding passes. The agency carried out searches on Friday at Rajya Sabha secretariat and other locations.
CBI sources said that after registering an FIR, agency teams carried out searches also at his Muzaffarpur residence in Bihar and at his office. The sources said more cases could be registered soon in connection with the LTC scam. The agency has registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act and sections of Indian Penal Code against Sahani, sources added.
The agency has initiated a preliminary enquiry after receiving a reference from the CVC.
