CBI on Friday arrested two engineers of South Delhi Municipal Corporation for allegedly accepting bribe from a contractor to clear his pending bills.
Assistant engineer Mohammed Asif and junior engineer Rajeev were arrested by the agency from Lajpat Nagar while they were allegedly accepting bribe of 40,000 from a contractor, CBI sources said.
They said the contractor had a pending bills of over Rs 58 lakh which were to be cleared. The officers were demanding bribe from the contractor to clear the bill after which he made a complaint to the CBI.
