CBI arrests two engineers for bribery

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested an assistant engineer (electrical) and a junior engineer (electrical) of PWD for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 each from a complainant in New Delhi.

The arrested have been identified as MC Sharma (assistant engineer) and CP Sahu (junior engineer).

“We have registered a case under sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 on the allegations that they had demanded a bribe of over Rs 50,000.”

Meanwhile, in a ponzi scam, the CBI has conducted searches at 11 locations in West Bengal in the residential as well as official premises of ASSDA Agro Projects and its directors.
