A 32-year-old businessman who holds an MBA degree from Indian School of Business Management (ISBM), Hyderabad, has been arrested by the Crime Branch here with 8 kg of heroin worth Rs 25 crore, police said on Saturday.
‘Anumulagundam Soma Shekhar (32) who is a resident of Hyderabad, Andhra Pardesh was arrested from near Nizamuddin Railway Station on Thursday following a tip off. He is an operative of an international drug trafficking module. So far we have recovered 29 kg of heroin from the members of this module who have been arrested in the last couple of months the total cost of which is around 100 crore,’ said additional commissioner of police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
Youth held for kidnapping cousin
New Delhi: A youth has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping her 8-year-old cousin sister for ransom in Sangam Vihar area, police said on Saturday. Rakesh Kumar (24) was arrested yesterday after the victim’s father registered a complaint in this regard. ‘Kumar had failed in several businesses and was in debt. To come out of debt, he kidnapped the girl and demanded Rs 4.70 lakh as ransom,’ additional commissioner of police (Outer) Sanjay Kumar.
