New Delhi: To fast-track ongoing works, UJVN Ltd MD Ajay Kumar Singh on April 11 inspected the 300 MW Lakhwar Multipurpose Project, marking his second visit since taking charge.
Singh reviewed key components, including the underground powerhouse, diversion structures, cofferdam and shear zone shaft. He assessed materials, machinery and manpower, and stressed strict adherence to quality and safety standards while directing officials to speed up execution.
At a review meeting, he said the project is a priority for both the Centre and the Uttarakhand government, with clear instructions to complete it within the stipulated timeline.
He urged officials to ensure quality alongside deadlines so that benefits reach Uttarakhand and six other states on time.
He also called for better coordination & asked officials to promptly flag any bottlenecks for swift resolution. The project is expected to boost power generation, irrigation, drinking water supply and flood control, driving regional development.
