Sugar prices slip on sluggish demand

A slight dip in the prices of sugar has been witnessed following a sluggish demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Prices of both varieties of sugar slipped modestly at the Vashi wholesale market following sluggish demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 4,012/4,240 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 4,012/4,250.

Small sugar (S-30) eased by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 3,972/4,021 as against Rs 3,972/4,025 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: 

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,972/4,021 (Rs 3,972/4,025).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 4,012/4,240 (Rs 4,012/4,250).
