MCF Raebareli achieves record production

Raebareli: The Modern Coach Factory (MCF) here has achieved a milestone by manufacturing 2,126 coaches in the financial year 2025–26, the highest annual output in its history. Continuing its strong post-COVID recovery, the factory has consistently raised production benchmarks over the past few years.

In comparison, MCF had produced 2,025 coaches in 2024–25. The latest figures mark an increase of about 5 per cent.

A key highlight of the year is the successful completion of MCF’s first “Vande Bharat” trainset. The total production includes a diverse range of rolling stock such as Vande Bharat coaches, MEMU coaches, Deen Dayalu coaches, sleeper coaches, 3-tier economy and AC 3-tier coaches, general chair cars, power cars, 2-tier coaches, Divyangjan-friendly coaches, Tejas coaches, parcel vans, and AC chair cars.

MCF also recorded its highest-ever production of components, including 2,168 coach set bogies, 2,205 coach shell assemblies, and 2,182 wheel sets during the year. In forged wheel production, the factory set a new benchmark by manufacturing 62,938 wheels, surpassing its target of 50,000 and registering a 54 per cent rise over the previous year. Additionally, 59,161 finished wheels cleared quality checks, marking a 77 per cent increase.

General Manager Vivek Khare credited the achievement to the dedication of Team MCF and reaffirmed the factory’s commitment to meeting future Railway Board targets.
