New Delhi: Honda Cars India on Wednesday said it will increase prices of its models by up to Rs 25,000 from January 1, 2018 in order to offset rise in input costs.
"We plan to hike prices across our models ranging between 1-2 per cent from January," a Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) spokesperson said.
The company is taking the hike due to increase in the cost of base metals, the spokesperson added.
HCIL sells models ranging from hatchback Brio with price starting at Rs 4.66 lakh to Accord Hybrid priced at Rs 43.21 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Passenger car manufacturer Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) registered a 19 per cent growth in sales at 1,17,322 units in the April-November period in 2017, a company official said on Wednesday.
During the corresponding period in 2016, the company sold 98,451 units, and with aggressive plans the company will have six big car launches in next three years, Rakesh Sidana, company's AVP and Operating Head, told reporters here.
Led by strong sales of two models New Honda City and Honda WR-V - launched this year, the company has emerged as the largest market for Honda in its Asia and Ocenia business region.
